February - Sannauk Sledding Campout

Posted on Jan 16 2017 - 1:30pm

Our Februray campout will be held on the weekend of the 3rd to the 5th. We will be returning to the Sannauk forest preserve in Sandwich, IL. Hopefully this year we have some snow so that the boys can enjoy the sledding hill. If not, we will make sure to have some backup activites planned. And don't worry, we will be back Sunday morning in plenty of time for the Super Bowl.

What's coming up for Waupecan Lodge 2017

What’s Coming Up in 2017 for Waupecan Lodge

As we reflect upon the past year of 2016 and its fun-filled events, 2017 is ahead and we are going at it full throttle!  This upcoming year is jam packed with fun, fellowship and everything in between!  A great way to get involved and to better our lodge is to come to the monthly Lodge Executive Committee (LEC) meetings.  These meetings are held on the second Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm at the Joliet Public Library.

Youth Leadership Training

Posted on Jan 16 2017 - 9:48am

The "Introduction to Leaderhip Skills for Troops" training will be held on Saturday, January 28th, from 9am to 1pm. All those who hold a position should attend this training. The training will be at the Homer town hall at 16057 S. Cedar Rd. We will have a lunch break during the day, and I plan to pick up something for the boys and leaders who attend. I do understand that the 8th graders will be going to schedule their high school classes in the afternoon that day, which is why I moved the training up to start at 9am. I promise that we will stay no longer than 1pm, and will do my best to finish early if possible.

Family Night and Change of Location for Meetings

Posted on Jan 12 2017 - 3:59pm
Please remember that next Tuesday, January 17th will be the troop family night. We ask that each family bring a small dish to share with all. Scouts should be in uniform and also may wear merit badge sashes. Please note that there is a change in location for this, as we will no longer be meeting at the Homer Junior High. We now have a new home at the Homer fire station where we park our trailer. The fire station is located at 16131 S. Bell Rd.

Family Night - Tuesday, 1/17

Our winter family night will be held on Tuesday, 1/17 at the Jr. High. We will be presenting the new youth leadership positions at this time. We ask that each family bring a small dish to share.

There will be over 90 merit badges available at this year’s MBU, making it one of the largest MBUs in the Nation!

MBU 2017 will be held at York High School, 355 West St. Charles Road, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
NOTE: Some classes will be taught at Elmhurst College, 190 Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst, IL 60126. It is important to check-in for ALL CLASSES at York High School. Buses will transport students to/from Elmhurst College.
